The mill with its guest houses is located on the Vegré river and invites you to take canoe trips to the village. Even inexperienced rowers can find their way across the river to the village in about 20 minutes, to buy one or two delicious French pastries or just a baguette in the boulangerie.

We are about 800 meters from the village of Loué on foot. A walk through the Marais nature reserve along the river also leads to Loué to the baker, butcher, pharmacy and doctors. A small supermarket has everything you need for your stay, a few minutes further out of town you will find a larger supermarket, health food store and LIDL. Loué has tennis courts, a swimming pool with a slide and restaurants.

A visit to the weekly market on Friday or Sunday morning in Le Mans below the cathedral and old town is recommended, as well as the many flea markets on Sundays in the Sarthe and Mayenne.

The mill complex is located in the department of Sarthe, near the Mayenne, 220 km west of Paris. The Loire Valley with many Loire castles and more than 300 fortresses. The caves of Saulges can be visited nearby. An ideal holiday destination for families, nature lovers and anglers.

The property is just 30 minutes from the Le Mans 24 Hours circuit. Various motor races take place starting in April. It is the oldest active endurance race in the world. Motorcycle, 24H Moto. or racing car races, such as the Le Mans Classic, the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and also a truck race. 24-hours-camions in Le Mans. Only a 1.5-hour drive away you can find the wine-growing region of Anjou, the Atlantic, with Mont-Saint-Michel and St. Malo.

History

Mill from the 18th century

The"Moulin de Barigné" was the largest grain mill on the Vègre, a tributary of the Sarthe. The origins can be retraced to the 15th century.

The existing buildings date back to the 18th and 19th centuries. The complex consists of 3 buildings: the Miller's House, the former Mill and the Studio Guesthouse, the barn conversion which was rebuilt in the 19th century into a second grain mill. The mill was operated till the year 1980.
